About Mike

Mike Happold is a licensed real estate agent with NextHome Rustic Realty – Team Happold serving Cheyenne and Southeast Wyoming, specializing in land, ranchettes, ranches, farms, residential homes, investment properties, and commercial real estate.

With more than 30 years of experience working with landowners, business owners, developers, and conservation projects across all 50 states, Mike brings a unique level of real-world knowledge and problem-solving experience to every transaction. His background includes land use, permitting, conservation easements, wetland restoration, habitat improvement, water and environmental programs, and helping property owners protect and improve the long-term value of their land.

Mike earned his degree in Fish and Wildlife Biology from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and spent decades leading teams of engineers, biologists, ecologists, and archeologists on complex land and environmental projects throughout the country. His experience navigating negotiations, regulations, and large-scale projects gives clients valuable insight when buying or selling land, acreage, ranch, recreation, investment, or development properties.

As a real estate investor and co-owner of a real estate investment company, Mike understands property not just from a professional standpoint, but from personal experience as well. He believes real estate can create opportunity, stability, and long-term value when approached strategically and honestly.

Mike is proud to work alongside his wife, Kari Happold, and son, Cade Happold, as part of Team Happold at NextHome Rustic Realty. Known for his calm approach, strong communication skills, and ability to build relationships, Mike focuses on helping clients feel informed, comfortable, and confident throughout the process.
